BHAKTA Spirits Launches BHAKTA 2012 Indian Single Malt Whisky

BHAKTA Spirits has announced the launch of its inaugural international whisky vintage, BHAKTA 2012 Indian Single Malt Whisky.
Sourced from Goa-based Ocean King Distillers, BHAKTA 2012 Indian Single Malt Whisky was double distilled in 2012 on copper pot stills from 100% six-row North Indian malted barley, aged for over a decade in non-climate controlled rickhouses in Goa, and finished in Armagnac casks for 131 days in Vermont before being bottled at a cask strength of 113.8 proof (53.9% ABV) at 10 years, 4 months old.
BHAKTA 2012 Indian Single Malt Whisky is described as “topaz” in color, with aromas of “cardamom, cacao, fresh sourdough, tropical fruits, and a hint of smoke.” The palate is “malty with a delicate sweetness that gives way to roasted chestnut, toasted oak, and peat smoke, with honeyed floral notes.” It concludes with a “lengthy and bright finish with marmalade and a touch of smoke/peat.”
Limited to 6,000 bottles, BHAKTA 2012 Indian Single Malt Whiskey has a suggested retail price of $149 and is now available at retailers in select states and online at bhaktaspirits.com.
