Barrell Craft Spirits has announced the launch of Barrell Bourbon Batch 036.

For this expression, the BCS blending team created a multi-mash bill blend of Indiana (7.5, 8, and 10 year), Kentucky (9 year) and Tennessee (8 and 15 year) bourbon whiskeys. The final blend features a derived mash bill of 79% corn, 16% rye, and 5% malted barley and was bottled at a cask strength of 57.22% ABV (114.44 proof) in Kentucky.

Official tasting notes for Barrell Bourbon Batch 036 follow:

Nose: The aroma starts with honey, lime, tangerine, and apricot, then evolves into cherry jam, Marcona almonds and buttermilk pancakes. Notes of Snickerdoodle cookies, Kuromitsu, chocolate mint, and a touch of cinchona bark emerge followed by subtle notes of fresh citrus.

Palate: The palate starts out rich with notes of caramel, cherry cola, pecan pie and chocolate torte, followed by citrus zest and cherry cordial. Hints of pepper and cardamom flicker throughout the mid and back palate followed by a dusting of cacao, Saigon cinnamon and oranges.

Finish: Cinnamon, white pepper, citrus zest, and cherry.

Barrell Bourbon Batch 036 also features a newly redesigned bottle label. The front label discloses the state(s) from which the whiskey was sourced, lists the age of every whiskey used in the blend, and more prominently features the batch number, making it easier to identify on the shelf. The back label now includes a derived mash bill of the final blend.

Barrell Bourbon Batch 036 is available for purchase at barrellbourbon.com and at select retailers for a suggested retail price of $89.99 per 750 mL bottle.
