Old Forester Announces National Sweepstakes For 2022 Birthday Bourbon
Old Forester has announced a national sweepstakes for the opportunity to purchase the 2022 bottling of their annual Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. The 2022 bottling will be the 22st consecutive iteration of the expression, launched to celebrate the marking of Old Forester founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday.
Old Forester 2022 Birthday Bourbon is bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV) and described as having aromas of “caramelized orange peel, cherry fruit, vanilla bean, graham cracker, toasted and charred oak, and a touch of cedar.” The palate has “subtle fruit flavor that transitions into sweet roasted coffee with hints of dark chocolate and a dash of cocoa, with toasted and charred seasoned oak character.” It concludes with a “smooth and light” finish of “velvety coffee and mocha notes with lingering dark chocolate character.”
The Old Forester Birthday Bourbon sweepstakes runs from August 24, 2022 through August 31, 2022. Winners will be notified via e-mail on September 2, 2022 and will have the opportunity to purchase one bottle of 2022 Birthday Bourbon for $169.99. The sweepstakes will be the only way to purchase the 2022 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon distillery release, though it will also be available in highly limited quantities via select retailers.
