Irish Distillers Launches Gold Spot Irish Whiskey 135th Anniversary Limited Edition

Gold Spot Irish Whiskey 135th Anniversary Limited Edition

Irish Distillers has announced the launch of Gold Spot Irish Whiskey, a limited edition expression marking 135 years of whiskey bonding among the Mitchell family, one of Ireland’s last remaining wine merchants.

Gold Spot is a triple-distilled, single pot still Irish whiskey that’s been matured for a minimum of 9 years in a combination of Bourbon casks, Sherry butts, Bordeaux wine casks, and Port pipes, bottled non-chill filtered and at a cask strength of 51.4% ABV (102.8 proof).

Gold Spot is described as having aromas of “autumnal berries, apple, pear, stone fruits, wood spices, vanilla, and perfumed wine undertones,” with notes of “rich pot still spices, vibrant fruits, delicate oak tannins and wood spices, and sweet influences of charred and toasted oak” on the palate, concluding with a “rich and lasting” finish with the “wine casks and pot still spices lingering.”

Gold Spot Irish Whiskey is available now at spotwhiskey.com and at Whiskey Live Dublin. It will also be available at retailers in Ireland, France, the UK, and Global Travel Retail beginning June 14th, with a US rollout to follow in mid-July. Gold Spot carries a suggested retail price of €120.
