Lux Row Distillers Announces Blood Oath Pact 8
Lux Row Distillers has announced Blood Oath Pact 8, a limited edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Calvados casks. Calvados is an apple or pear brandy from the Normandy region in northwestern France that’s distilled from cider and aged in oak casks.
To create Blood Oath Pact 8, Master Distiller John Rempe combined three Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys distilled from the same ryed (78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley) mash bill: a 14 year old bourbon, an 11 year old bourbon, and an 8 year old bourbon finished in Calvados casks. The Calvados cask finished component is described as contributing aromas of “apple, vanilla, and cinnamon,” and flavors of “ripe apples, juicy pears, butterscotch, and chocolate.”
Blood Oath Pact 8 is limited to 51,000 bottles, 1,400 of which will be held for a future Trilogy Pack release. The first Trilogy Pack, featuring Pacts 1, 2 and 3, was released in 2018, and the second Trilogy Pack, featuring Pacts 4, 5 and 6, was released in September 2021.
Blood Oath Pact 8 is bottled at 49.3% ABV and will be available beginning this month at a suggested retail price of $119.99 per 750 mL bottle.
