Irish Distillers Unveils Midleton Very Rare 2022 Vintage

Irish Distillers has unveiled Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2022, the 39th edition in the annual series and the second to be released by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman.
For the Midleton Very Rare 2022 vintage, O’Gorman and the team of whiskey makers at Midleton distillery created a blend using single pot still and single grain whiskeys aged between 12 and 33 years, matured in lightly charred first fill and refill ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
Bottled from a single vatting during January 2022 at 40% ABV, Midleton Very Rare 2022 is described as having aromas of “mandarin, candied apple, white pepper, grated nutmeg, hazelnut chocolate, toffee, charred oak, fresh floral tones, sweet vanilla, and toasted wood.” The palate has notes of “caramelised red apples, orange zest, crème brûlée, pot still spices, and cereal undertones.” It concludes with a “rich and lasting finish in which the grain and pot still spices are the first to fade, allowing the oak to have the final say.”
Midleton Very Rare 2022 will be available over the coming months in the USA, Canada, Global Travel Retail, Europe, Australia, and Asia at a suggested retail price of €200 (~$224).
