Redbreast Announces Iberian Series & Redbreast Pedro Ximénez (PX) Edition

Redbreast Pedro Ximénez (PX) Edition

Irish Distillers has unveiled the Redbreast Iberian Series, a new collection of Irish whiskeys that celebrate the brand’s long-standing connection to some of the Iberian Peninsula’s most recognized cooperages and winemakers.

Redbreast Lustau Edition – launched in 2016 – will be the anchor expression in the Redbreast Iberian Series. It will be joined by new limited edition releases “from time to time”, starting with Redbreast Pedro Ximénez (PX) Edition, a triple distilled, single pot still Irish whiskey initially matured in ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks before being re-casked into Pedro Ximénez hogsheads from the southern tip of Spain for a minimum of 12 months.

Redbreast PX Edition is described as having aromas of “fruit, spices and toasted nuts combined with the subtly sweet aroma of Pedro Ximénez sherry seasoned casks.” On the palate, it’s “zesty” and “syrupy” with “the perfect balance of fruit, spice and toasted notes.” It concludes with a “satisfyingly rich and long, sweet” finish.

Bottled without chill-filtration at 46% ABV, Redbreast PX Edition will be available in Ireland, the UK, Finland and Global Travel Retail beginning in late September, and in the US beginning in November. It carries a suggested retail price of €80, £72, and $86, respectively.
