Old Forester 2021 Birthday Bourbon Launching September 2nd

Old Forester has announced the 2021 bottling of their annual Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. The 2021 bottling will be the 21st consecutive iteration of the expression, launched to celebrate the marking of Old Forester founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday.
Old Forester 2021 Birthday Bourbon is comprised of 119 barrels, barreled on April 6, 2009 and matured in Warehouse G for 12 years. Bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV), the 2021 Birthday Bourbon is described as having aromas of “red raspberry preserves, juicy blackberries, and dried strawberries nestled in a bed of dried herbs and balanced with vanilla creme brulee, subtle pecan, rich maple syrup, and cocoa.” The palate has a “velvety mouthfeel” that gives way to notes of “buttery caramel, burnt sugar, a touch of fresh baked Linzer cookies, and a bright, peppery, peripheral spice.” It concludes with a “lengthy, warm, and subtly dry” finish with “subdued notes of chocolate, raisin and cool herbs lingering in the shadow of stark oak spice.”
Old Forester 2021 Birthday Bourbon will be available in highly limited quantities starting September 2nd at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
