WhistlePig Announces The Boss Hog VII: Magellan’s Atlantic
WhistlePig has announced The Boss Hog VII: Magellan’s Atlantic, a single barrel, barrel strength, straight Rye whiskey sourced from Canada, aged 17 years in new American Oak, and finished in Spanish oak and South American teakwood.
Tasting notes for The Boss Hog VII: Magellan’s Atlantic describe the nose as “Intensely aromatic, with cinnamon sugar, allspice, maple, and toasted wood notes alongside creamy vanilla, roasted almonds, and a touch of ground espresso.” The palate features “Spicy cloves, sweet brandied cherries, baking spices, and subtle hints of charred oak, sage, and dark chocolate.” The finish is “Everlasting with gobs of cinnamon and oak spice.”
Due to the variable nature of single barrel products, bottles of The Boss Hog VII: Magellan’s Atlantic will vary from 105.1–107.8 proof (52.55-53.9% ABV).
