Old Forester 2020 Birthday Bourbon Releases September 2nd
Old Forester has announced the 2020 bottling of their annual Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. The 2020 bottling will be the 20th consecutive iteration of the expression, launched to celebrate the marking of Old Forester founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday.
Old Forester 2020 Birthday Bourbon is comprised of 95 barrels, barreled on June 5, 2010 and aged 10 years. Bottled at 98 proof (49% ABV), the 2020 Birthday Bourbon is described as having aromas of “white floral notes, magnolia, citrus, vanilla, buttery leather, cocoa powder, and sprinkles of brown sugar, white chocolate shavings, caramel drizzle and hints of tropical fruit.” The palate gives way to notes of “caramel, brittle toffee, banana, mango, coconut flakes and macadamia nut”, concluding with a “long and delicately drying” finish “with a hint of anise.”
Old Forester 2020 Birthday Bourbon will be available in highly limited quantities starting September 2nd at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
