Buffalo Trace Distillery Bringing Blanton’s Gold Edition to the US
Buffalo Trace Distillery will be bringing Blanton’s Gold Edition to the US, where it will be released once a year in limited quantities. This is the first time Blanton’s Gold Edition will be available in the US. Until now, the only version of Blanton’s Bourbon available stateside was the Original Single Barrel.
Distilled from the same recipe as Blanton’s Original, Blanton’s Gold Edition is bottled at higher proof (103 vs 93) and is described as having aromas of “honey, heavy rye, dried fruits, vanilla, and chocolate”, with a “full and rich” mouthfeel that exhibits notes of “apricot, butter, pepper, light honey, and oak.” The finish is described as “long, with toffee and apple, developing on pecan and caramel.”
The first US release of Blanton’s Gold Edition will arrive in summer 2020 at a suggested retail price of $120.
