WhistlePig Unveils The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist Katakana Edition

WhistlePig The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist Katakana Edition

Last month, we covered the release of WhistlePig The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist, a single barrel, barrel strength, straight Rye whiskey sourced from Canada and finished in Japanese Umeshu (fruit liqueur) barrels.

Today, WhistlePig announced that 1,000 bottles of The Samurai Scientist in the US have had their labels printed in Japanese and the silver/gray pewter topper replaced with a black topper, a limited run they’re dubbing The Samurai Scientist Katakana Edition.

If you’ve managed to come across a bottle of The Samurai Scientist Katakana Edition, WhistlePig is offering the opportunity to register your bottle in exchange for an official certificate of authenticity signed by Master Blender Pete Lynch, including a message from their Umeshu partner at Kitaya Brewery in Japan.

Hello I just read your post from November about having the Katakana edition. How do you go about registering the bottle. Mine is complete with box, bottle stopper and paper pig.
    Thank you
    Dean

Hey Dean! It appears the registration site is no longer active. I’ve reached out to the team at WhistlePig to see if there’s another way to register the bottle. I’ll let you know if and when I hear back.
