WhistlePig Announces The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist

WhistlePig The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist

WhistlePig has announced The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist, a single barrel, barrel strength, straight Rye whiskey sourced from Canada and finished in Japanese Umeshu barrels. Umeshu is a Japanese liqueur made by steeping ume fruits in alcohol and sugar.

Tasting notes for The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist describe the nose as “Intensely aromatic, with cinnamon, maple, and toasted marshmallow that develops with time in the glass.” The palate features “Tobacco, ginger, baking spices, and savory umami creating a remarkably rich, nuanced and elegant profile lending to soft, sweet notes that further color the mosaic of flavor.” The finish is “Incredibly long, with oak spice, char, and just a touch of lingering smoke as the finish fades.”

Due to the variable nature of single barrel products, bottles of The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist will vary from 120–122 proof (60-61% ABV).

WhistlePig The Boss Hog VI: The Samurai Scientist will be available beginning in November at a suggested retail price of $499.99.
