Kavalan Announces Concertmaster Sherry Cask Finish
Kavalan has announced Concertmaster Sherry Cask Finish, a Taiwanese single malt whisky matured in American oak refill casks and finished in Sherry-seasoned American oak casks. Concertmaster Sherry Cask Finish is the second expression to be released under the Concertmaster range, joining the Port Cask Finish, matured in American oak refill casks and finished in Portuguese ruby port casks.
Kavalan Concertmaster Sherry Cask Finish is bottled at 40% ABV and is described as being a “pale apricot” color, with a nose of “sweet vanilla and toffee accompanied in the background by subtle, silky chocolate and layers of crème brûlée, made satisfyingly complex with rich, ripe dark fruits and walnut and almond nuttiness continuing onto the tongue”. On the palate, a “round, thick mouthfeel dominated by a dense burst of this series’ signature taste – seductively luscious tropical fruits – elegantly balanced and lingering long on the finish.”
Kavalan Concertmaster Sherry Cask Finish is available now in Taiwan with a global roll-out to follow.
