Buffalo Trace Announces Second Release of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain - Second Release

Buffalo Trace Distillery has announced a second release of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain, their award winning small batch bourbon made from a distinct recipe using corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley. The four grain recipe gives it a unique flavor profile compared to other bourbons. Buffalo Trace describes the nose as “reminiscent of a chocolate roast malt, a flash of spice attached to barely perceptible Ulmo honey” followed by “deeper Manuka honey and licorice notes” on the palate and “slow, lightly oiled, gently spiced chocolate” on the finish.

This will be the final release of Four Grain, with Buffalo Trace stating “there are no plans of further releases in the near future.” The first version was released in Spring 2017 and was named The 2018 World Whiskey of the Year in Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible.

E.H. Taylor Four Grain is aged for 13 years, Bottled-in-Bond, 100 Proof (50% ABV) and will be available this Spring in limited quantities at a suggested retail price of $69.99 per 750ml bottle, the same price as the first release.
