Diageo Announces Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare

Diageo has announced the launch of Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare, a limited edition series crafted using whiskies from closed “ghost” distilleries and other rare malt and grain whiskies. Each edition will feature a “ghost” distillery at its core, the first being Brora, which closed in 1983, but will reopen in 2020.
Crafted by Johnnie Walker Master Distiller, Jim Beveridge, this release is a blend of eight Scotch whiskies, including three “ghost” whiskies from the silent distilleries of Cambus, Pittyvaich and Brora, and five whiskies from the existing distilleries of Royal Lochnagar, Clynelish, Glenkinchie, Glenlossie and Cameronbridge. Ghost and Rare is described as a “smooth scotch, with the fruity sweetness of pineapple, rich notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, and a subtle smoky finish.”
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Brora is bottled at 46% ABV and will begin landing in stores next month.
