Irish Distillers Unveils Jameson Crested Finished in Barleywine Irish Oak Barrels

Irish Distillers has unveiled Jameson Crested Finished in Barleywine Irish Oak Barrels, its third collaboration with Eight Degrees Brewing in the Jameson Crested series.
The creation of Jameson Crested Finished in Barleywine Irish Oak Barrels started by selecting rare Irish oak barrels from Midleton Distillery. The brewery team at Eight Degrees then selected barleywine to rest in the barrels for 12 weeks to produce a beer infused with whiskey flavors for their Original Gravity series. Once emptied, the beer-seasoned barrels were returned to Midleton, filled with Jameson Crested, and left to mature for a further three months before being bottled at 45% ABV.
Jameson Crested Finished in Barleywine Irish Oak Barrels is described as having a “rich roasted malted barley flavour profile with notes of toasted almonds and sweet candy floss, perfectly balancing generous oak tannins and dried fruits with cereal notes and nutty undertones from the barleywine for a full-bodied and luxurious flavour.”
A limited edition release of fewer than 10,000 bottles, Jameson Crested Finished in Barleywine Irish Oak Barrels is available at Jameson Distillery Bow Street in Dublin, Midleton Distillery in Cork, select retailers in Ireland, at global travel retail, and through Jameson’s online shop at €50 for 70 cL bottle.
