Irish Distillers Unveils The Jameson Anthology, Launches Jameson 15 Year Old Single Pot Still

Jameson 15 Year Old Single Pot Still

Irish Distillers has unveiled The Jameson Anthology, a curated collection of limited edition Irish whiskeys that draw inspiration from the past as well as imagining new possibilities.

Jameson Remastered, the first volume within The Jameson Anthology, celebrates the spirit of discontinued whiskeys by reinventing them with modern techniques. The soon to be released second volume, Jameson Remixed, will explore and experiment with new styles for a completely different take on Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Jameson 15 Year Old Single Pot Still, the first release within the Jameson Remastered volume, is a reinvention of Jameson 15 Year Old, a whisky that was last produced in 2000 as a limited edition expression. Jameson 15 Year Old Single Pot Still is composed of three whiskey styles spanning 15 to 17 years of maturation in American bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts and features a significant contribution of sherry casks.

Jameson 15 Year Old Single Pot Still is described as having aromas of “Rich nutty tones, dark berries, and ripe orchard fruits mixed with sweet woodland spices. Underlying hints of oak combined with dried herbs and traditional pot still flavors, all wonderfully balanced and complex.” The palate is “robust and spicy with the pot still influences to the fore accompanied by the oak’s tannins alongside silky, textured layers of sweet dairy fudge and vanilla. Soft fruit notes of cherry are intertwined with fig and plum.” It concludes with “a rich and lasting finish with the duo of fruit and spices lingering before the toasted oak’s drying tannins have the last word.”

Bottled non chill-filtered with no added color and presented at a cask strength of 56.4% ABV, Jameson 15 Year Old Single Pot Still is bottled in 500 mL format and will retail for €300. A limited quantity of 2,220 bottles will be available through two online ballots. The first ballot will open to members of Barrel Club Midleton Distillery at 9:00 am Irish Saving Time (IST) on Monday, April 4th and the second ballot will open to the public at 2:00 pm (IST) on Friday, April 8th. Shipping to winners will take place beginning at the end of April.
