Compass Box has unveiled Confluence, a one-of-one blend that will headline Bonhams forthcoming Art & Alchemy of Spirits: Presenting Compass Box to Benefit the Wolfsonian, an online auction running from November 26–December 10.

Compass Box Confluence was created in collaboration with Angela D’Orazio, Compass Box’s recently appointed Creative Director of Whiskymaking. London-based contemporary artist Mary West, renowned for her stylized landscape paintings, has created an exclusive label that blends abstract and figurative elements to evoke landscapes of Scotland and Sweden. Scottish woodworker Duncan Legate, who specializes in hand-made live edge furniture, has crafted a bespoke Scottish timber display, where natural imperfections are hero-ed to echo the interplay of terroirs. Compass Box Confluence is estimated at $10,000-$13,000.

William Grant & Sons has unveiled Ladyburn Marilyn Monroe by Sam Shaw, a bottling created exclusively for the third Distillers One of One charity auction.

Distilled in 1966, the year Ladyburn was founded, the spirit selected for this bottling was hand-drawn from a single Sherry butt (cask #102092) into a single bottle in 2025. At 58 years old, Ladyburn Marilyn Monroe by Sam Shaw is the oldest release from Ladyburn Distillery to date.

Ladyburn Marilyn Monroe by Sam Shaw is presented of natural color and bottled at a cask strength of 43.7% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “linseed, liquorice antique leather, and some soft vanilla toffee notes that compliment the sherry oakiness.” The palate is “rich and mouth-coating with a silky texture and flavors of stewed fruits, green leafiness, tobacco leaf, and aged leather.” The finish is “slightly dry, velvety smooth, and mellow.”

The bottle label features a photograph of Marilyn Monroe by her friend and photographer Sam Shaw. The bottle is presented in a satin lacquered display case and includes a five-page folio with details of Ladyburn’s story and of the lifelong friendship between Shaw and Marilyn.

Ladyburn Marilyn Monroe by Sam Shaw is estimated to close between £30,000-£50,000 ($40,500-$67,500).

Gordon & MacPhail has unveiled a one-of-a-kind trilogy collection to be showcased at the third Distillers One of One charity auction.

The trilogy brings together single malt whiskies from Glen Grant, Benromach, and The Cairn, with a combined age totaling 130 years in celebration of Gordon & MacPhail’s 130th anniversary.

The oldest whisky in the trilogy is the Glen Grant, which was distilled in 1950 and aged for 75 years in a first fill Sherry butt before being bottled at 46.7% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “rich beeswax polish that gives way to dried fruit and orange marmalade, sweet liquorice, and notes of blackcurrant tempered by a hint of smoke.” The palate is “smooth with sweet, dried tobacco flavors leading to Seville orange, clove spice, fig, and aged oak with spicy black pepper.” The finish is “long and full, with lingering vibrant citrus and spice.”

The second oldest whisky in the trilogy is the Benromach, which was distilled in 1972 and aged for 52 years in Sherry casks before being bottled at 54.3% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “candied citrus peel and golden sultana leading to subtle aged leather and aniseed, warm spices, dark toffee, and oak.” The palate exhibits notes of “rich orange marmalade flavors that give way to dried tobacco and spicy hints of white pepper, mature oak, dark fruits, and a touch of menthol.” The finish is “long and complex with lingering hints of walnut.

The youngest whisky in the trilogy is also the first ever release of single malt Scotch whisky from The Cairn Distillery, opened in 2022. The Cairn was aged for 3 years in a first fill Sherry hogshead and bottled at 61.3% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “vanilla leading to sweet barley sugars with sherry influences, subtle citrus, and lighter notes of new oak.” The palate is “creamy initially with spicy ginger, fresh orange, and raspberry flavors with subtle apple.” The finish is “spicy, punctuated by black pepper.”

All three whiskies in the Gordon & MacPhail 130th anniversary trilogy collection are bottled in 50 cL decanters and presented on a bespoke crystal plinth designed by Glencairn Crystal.

Coachbuilt Whisky has unveiled Atlassian Williams Racing 50 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky, a bottling created exclusively for the 2025 Distillers One of One Auction.

The biennial auction raises funds to support The Distillers’ Charity, principally the Youth Action Fund, to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people in Scotland.

Atlassian Williams Racing 50 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky is crafted predominantly from Lowlands whisky distilled in 1973 and matured entirely in sherry casks, with its final four years spent in Oloroso. The whisky contains a 35% malt content and is bottled at 46.6% ABV.

Atlassian Williams Racing 50 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky is described as having aromas of “leather, tobacco, figs, dates, red fruits, chocolate, caramel, honey, and boxed cigars.” The palate is “opulent and textural, delivering notes of dark berries, baked bread, caramel, burnt orange peel, and almond butter.” The finish is “extraordinarily long, leaving lasting impressions of mocha, dark chocolate, and vanilla pods.”

The 700 mL bottle is housed in a sculpture created by artist Mike O’Connor, forged entirely from the reclaimed metal of the race-winning 1979 Williams Racing FW07 Formula 1 car and anchored on a slab of polished black granite.

Coachbuilt Atlassian Williams Racing 50 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky is estimated to close between £6,000-£10,000 ($7,043-$11,738).

Ferg & Harris has unveiled Wings of Kintyre, a bottling created exclusively for the 2025 Distillers One of One charity auction.

The auction, which takes place every two years, sees unique whiskies and experiences auctioned to benefit the Youth Action Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports disadvantaged young people in Scotland.

For Wings of Kintyre, the Ferg & Harris team have bottled a single cask of Springbank 31 year old organic Single Malt Scotch Whisky finished in an organic Cognac cask. The Cognac was produced exclusively with Folle Blanche grapes grown in the Champagne region of France.

Official tasting notes for Wings of Kintyre follow:

Nose: Opens with welcoming aromas of freshly baked malted biscuits. Notes of creamy vanilla and light baking spices add warmth and finesse. As the whisky breathes, layers of baked orchard fruits such as spiced apple tart and stewed pears come forward, underscored by a gentle wooded depth.

Palate: Bottled at its natural cask strength of 47.6% ABV, the whisky opens with notes of lightly sweetened oat biscuits, followed by ginger warmth, vanilla custard, and golden raisins. A burst of baked apple and citrus zest provides lift, while the enhanced oak contact from the small cask imparts an elegant backbone of toasted wood, nutmeg, and a hint of dry roasted almonds.

Finish: The finish is long, clean, and structured, echoing with flavours of toasted oats, dry ginger spice, and a crisp, refreshing citrus peel sharpness.

Wings of Kintyre is bottled at 47.6% ABV and presented in a glass bottle that features a delicate barley stalk detailed in 14 carat gold, a bottle neck adorned with Victorian sea glass threaded onto low-carbon Scottish leather, and an asymmetrical glass stopper.

The bottle is housed in a presentation case with a frame hewn from sustainable oak by Scottish woodworker Eoghan Menzies. The landscapes and sense of freedom of Springbank’s home on the Kintyre Peninsula, plus Ferg & Harris’ blue magpie motif are the inspirations for the stained-glass frontage, crafted by Inverclyde artist Alec Galloway and lit from within to showcase each detail.

Ferg & Harris Wings of Kintyre is valued between £2,400 and £3,500. The winning bidder of Wings of Kintyre will be invited to join Alex Harrison for a private tasting at Young Spirits headquarters in Edinburgh. They will also receive the 1.2 liter cask the whisky was finished in, personalized with their details. The lot also includes hand-waxed glass ampoules to allow the lot’s new owner to sample the spirit.

International Beverage has unveiled Old Pulteney Polaris, a 47 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky that marks the oldest release from the distillery to date.

Old Pulteney Polaris will be available exclusively through the third Distillers’ One of One auction, a series of biennial auctions bringing together one-off, never-to-be-repeated Scotch whiskies from distilleries across Scotland to raise funds to help disadvantaged young people in Scotland.

Distilled and aged at Old Pulteney, Polaris was matured for four decades in American oak casks, with a final seven years spent resting in a single first-fill Spanish oak butt. Old Pulteney Polaris is presented in a 1.5 liter bottle at 43.6% ABV. The auction lot will also include a 100 mL sample.

Official tasting notes for Old Pulteney Polaris follow:.

Nose: Deep, oily/waxy and even slightly resinous. Immediately, there’s great concentration of luscious fruits: baked peach, apricot, red apple cut with a zesty mix of orange oil and fresh ginger. Layered and chewy (some toffee). The aromas continue to deepen and become more strange and oxidative: bletted medlar, cob nut, old-style cobbler’s workshop, but then given lift by a gorse/whin freshness and the sensation of a cool seashore breeze. Driven by distillate and time, not wood. A gorgeous, old style.

Palate: Thick, waxy texture. Palate-clinging, all fats, sealing wax, late harvest soft fruits with that touch of decay to them. This is immediately contrasted with a jag of the citrus seen on the nose. The fruits become compressed as the oils build, there’s a touch of rabbit glue, while the wood adds silky tannins and its own aromatic, cedary qualities. Things remain soft and flowing before some light salinity tingles on the sides of the tongue. A clifftop walk in a stiff breeze. Lovely balance.

While water is probably best kept on the side to refresh the palate, a drop or two increases the oxidised elements, adding in light sandalwood incense. Now it is more open, more mineralic, a thrilling mix of acidity, toasted wood and savouriness. Mature, wise with a wildness to it.

Finish: The saltiness fades and the fruits return.

Old Pulteney Polaris is presented in a deep blue bottle with a ripple effect around the glassware, representing the crashing waves of the Caithness coast. The bottle is encased in a sculpture of Caithness slate and silver, which are both naturally found in the distillery’s home in the far north of Scotland. An additional enhancement of a secret copper disc lies at the base of the structure, which has been reclaimed from Pulteney Distillery’s stills.

Sotheby’s has announced that it will present at auction Bowmore ARC-54: The Iridos Edition, a 54 year old single malt presented in a one-off decanter designed by Aston Martin.

Crafted by Calum Fraser, Chief Blender, Bowmore Arc-54: The Iridos Edition was drawn from a 1967 Oloroso Sherry seasoned European oak butt, a 1968 refill Sherry butt, and a 1968 American oak ex-bourbon hogshead, and is bottled at 42.3% ABV.

Official tasting notes for Bowmore Arc-54: The Iridos Edition follow:

BREATHE IN: Luscious, sweet, rich and complex. Polished mahogany intertwined with tropical fruit notes of soft peach, guava, desiccated coconut and gently charred ripe pineapple. The uplifting tropical fruit notes are further elevated with hints of citric orange zest are balanced harmoniously with indulgent rich fruit notes of honeyed figs, dates and moist sultanas in addition to chocolate orange with hints of sweet cinnamon together with herbal and minty notes of menthol.

TASTE: An abundance of tropical and citrus fruits layered with hints of toasted almonds and delicate Islay peat smoke. Lemon meringue, mandarin oranges, peaches in syrup and mango captivate the palate, and lead to rich notes of toasted oak, cocoa powder and creamy fudge.

SAVOUR: Long, smooth tropical fruits notes, notably passion fruit with sensations of sweet spice and gentle peat in the background.

Bowmore ARC-54: Iridos Edition is presented in a handblown decanter with a unique shape that takes inspiration from the F1-inspired aerodynamic exterior of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar. The titanium top of the decanter has been created using the same process applied to the Aston Martin Valkyrie’s exhaust system. Milled from a single billet of titanium, it was then subjected to extreme changes in temperature, both hot and cold, to create a unique iridescent bluing patternation on the metal.

Sotheby’s online auction featuring Bowmore ARC-54: The Iridos Edition will open for bidding from May 15-29. It has an estimated hammer price of £140,000-£220,000 ($180,000-$300,000). Proceeds from the auction will benefit the communities which support Suntory Global Spirits’ distilleries in Scotland.

Released late last year, Queen of the Tetons is a limited edition bourbon dedicated to the legendary Grizzly 399, the bear who was tragically killed in a car accident near Grand Teton National Park on October 22, 2024.

The Macallan, in partnership with Sotheby’s, has unveiled Distil Your World Mexico Single Cask Edition for auction.

This single cask bottling from The Macallan’s Distil Your World series is limited to just two bottles – one for Sotheby’s auction and one for The Macallan’s archive.

Matured in a single American oak sherry seasoned butt (Cask No. 1964) filled on February 10th, 2005 and bottled at 55% ABV, Distil Your World Mexico Single Cask Edition is described as having aromas of “pineapple, grapefruit, and apple with intense orange peel alongside the decadent richness of crème brulee and cinnamon spice.” The palate exhibits “mouthcoating viscosity through notes of creamy dulce de leche, cinnamon dusted churros, and almonds tumbled in caramelized sugar, balanced with rich vanilla pod and charred pineapple.” It concludes with a “long and sweet” finish of “tropical fruits, rich oak, and dark chocolate.”

Distil Your World Mexico Single Cask Edition is presented in a vibrant orange box featuring a marigold-themed interior design inspired by the Day of the Dead. The multi-component auction lot will also include an exclusive, bespoke artwork created by illustrator Alfredo Rios, who specializes in depicting nature and Mexican folklore.

The Macallan Distil Your World Mexico Single Cask Edition is estimated to close at $30,000-$80,000. Bidding for the sale began on Wednesday, March 5th and ends on Friday, March 21st. Proceeds from Sotheby’s auction will benefit Esperanza International, an organization dedicated to supporting home building and community development in Mexico.

Sazerac, in partnership with BlockBar, has announced an online auction to raise funds for the American Red Cross’s relief efforts for Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

In late September, Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm sweeping across the Southeast leaving behind catastrophic damage. The storm caused devastating floods in Western North Carolina and surrounding areas and led to the loss of more than 200 lives. Not long after, Hurricane Milton hit Florida’s Tampa Bay area causing flooding and widespread power outages.
