Berry Bros. & Rudd has unveiled its 2026 Odyssey collection – The Auld and the Bold.

First launched in 2024, the Odyssey is as an ongoing collection of themed annual releases which bring together single cask spirits connected by a mutual influence to form an “Odyssey”.

The Auld and the Bold is a celebration of the dialogue between Scotland’s great whisky traditions and a new generation of distillers redefining the category around the world. The collection includes 20 bottlings from 20 distilleries and is comprised of whiskies, rums, and a cognac:

Found North has announced the launch of its latest whisky, Found North Batch 012.

Found North Batch 012 is a blend of 16-22 year old Canadian whiskies aged in new American oak, used American oak, and heavily toasted French oak barrels. Batch 012 has a final grain composition of 86% Corn, 13% Rye, and 1% Malted Barley and is bottled non chill-filtered, with no additives, and of natural color at a cask strength of 64.1% ABV (128.2 proof).

Official tasting notes for Found North Batch 012 follow:

Each quadrant of the whisky presents different undertones that give each moment’s prevailing sweetness character and balance. Batch 012’s major key is the toasted sweetness, especially in the landing. The opening salvo of marshmallow and creamy vanilla are coupled with a rich toasted oak quality, lending a singed texture that enhances the initial mouthfeel. It tastes like the whisky was flambéed on its way into the glass.

The savory quality increases with a soft minerality, reminiscent of the slightly salty note you should find in well-made chocolate chip cookies. These savory notes give the sweetness a long leash to express itself through the early parts of the mid-palate, bringing out a roasted nuttiness, thick honey, ripe maple covered cherries and dense burnt caramel.

The wood spices and tannic profile lend a gentle touch of toffee bitterness. Found North has announced the launch of its latest release, Found North Peregrine 2026.

Found North Peregrine 2026 began as an eight component blend of 20-27 year old whiskies – two 21 year old corn components, two 22 year old corn components, one 27 year old corn component, one 20 year old rye component, and two 21 year old rye components. That blend was then finished for an additional five months in Armagnac, Cognac, and 18-month air-dried new American oak casks from ISC. Found North selected 17 of the 23 finishing casks for the final blend. The final cask composition by volume is as follows:

• 15.6% Armagnac Casks
• 58.4% Cognac Casks
• 15.6% 18-month Air-dried New American Oak, Medium Toast, Char #2
• 10.4% 18-month Air-dried New American Oak, Medium Toast, Char #1

Peregrine 2026 has a final grain composition of 80% Corn, 19% Rye, and 1% Malted Barley and is bottled non chill-filtered, with no additives, and of natural color at a cask strength of 59.9% ABV (119.8 proof).

Official tasting notes for Found North Peregrine 2026 follow:

1st quadrant: Lands creamy, viscous, with some sticky sweetness. The fruit profile is bright, primarily orchard fruits, with secondary red fruit quality.

2nd quadrant: The baking spice emerges along with the darker fruit profile and a higher concentration of wood phenols/aromatics.

3rd quadrant: The creaminess is replaced by a higher concentration of sweetness, caramelization and wood and baking spice. The underlying viscosity persists, but the textural profile has more grip.

4th quadrant: The tannins are mild. There is a lot of wood spice, without bite or bitterness. The side palate maintains sweetness. The vanillin darkens and presents more chocolate characteristics. Fruit profile also further darkens into heavier preserves with higher sugar concentration.

Resolve: Leather and mild phenols.

Found North has announced the next release in its High Altitude Collection: Found North Goldfinch First Flight.

Found North Goldfinch First Flight began as a blend of 15 year old corn whisky matured in new American oak, 22 year old corn whisky matured in new American oak, 20 year old corn whisky matured in used American oak, 22 year old corn whisky matured in used American oak, and 20 year old rye whisky matured in used American oak. Two thirds of the core blend was finished in Sauternes casks. The remainder was evenly split between Cognac casks and air-dried, heavy toast, char level 1, new American oak from Kelvin. Goldfinch has a final grain composition of 91% Corn, 8% Rye, and 1% Malted Barley and is bottled non chill-filtered, with no additives, and of natural color at a cask strength of 58.1% ABV (116.2 proof).

Official tasting notes for Found North Goldfinch First Flight follow:

Our lab notes break each test blend into four “quadrants” and the “resolve.” The first quadrant is the initial landing, the very first impression of the whisky. The second and the third quadrants refer to the mid-palate. The fourth quadrant is the finish. The “resolve” is the aftertaste that emerges and lingers after the finish.

First Quadrant: The landing has a sticky-sweet texture and flavor, with a warm, crackling grip and dense red orchard fruit that sustains into the second quadrant.

Second Quadrant: As the texture rounds out, the red fruit shifts into white fruit with subtle undertones of citrus. The richness and intensity of the white fruit compliment the emergence of baking spice and floral notes that sustain into the third quadrant.

Third Quadrant: The texture fully brightens into a round, creamy quality. A counterbalancing wood tannin develops alongside the baking spice, especially on the side-palate that pairs with wood aromas and vanillin towards the latter part of the third quadrant and the early part of the fourth quadrant.

Fourth Quadrant: The fruit fades while the wood quality presents a pairing of wood phenols and a custard texture. The mild tannin note balances the caramelized sugar quality on the back half of the finish.

Resolve: After the finish, red fruit returns with a cinnamon echo.

Overall Impression: Goldfinch starts out much darker and richer than expected given the primary finishing cask, but the middle two quadrants show a burst of white fruit and creamy vanillin before it reverts back into a heavier, richer conclusion.

Found North Goldfinch First Flight will be available through an online lottery open to Found North mailing list members on October 7 at 12:00 PM ET, and will also be available in-stores across the country for a suggested retail price of $159.99.

The team behind independent bottler Living Souls has announced the launch of the ‘farm to glass’ Drummygar Distillery.

Drummygar is led by Living Souls Founder John Torrance, whose quarter-century of distilling experience spans Diageo, Douglas Laing, and Living Souls. Zak Shenfield, formerly of Strathearn Distillery and BrewDog, has been appointed Operations Director and Head Distiller. Drummygar also draws on the expertise of Living Souls Co-Founders Calum Leslie and Jamie Williamson. Calum was previously Head of Innovation at Loch Lomond Group, while Jamie enjoyed stints at Old Curiosity Distillery and Douglas Laing before starting his own spirits distributor, Kilninian Drinks Co.

Located near Arbroath, the small working Drummygar farm uses heritage Chevallier barley sustainably tended by Clydesdale horses. Chevallier was the dominant barley in British whisky production throughout the 19th century, before falling out of favor due to changes in tax rules.

The distillery’s equipment includes a traditional manual mash tun, three 1000L copper alembic stills, and four 2000L fermenters. The distillery will primarily age spirit in first-fill bourbon casks, supported by sherry, wine, and specialist varieties. Drummygar anticipates year one production to reach 30,000 Litres of Pure Alcohol (LPA).

Production at Drummygar commenced in August 2025, and the distillery expects to release its first whiskies in the mid-to-late 2030s.
