Corazón Tequila has announced the Expresiones del Corazón 2023 Collection, featuring limited edition tequilas aged in barrels that once held some of the most-coveted whiskeys produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery.

The 2023 collection includes:

Corazón Artisanal Small Batch Blanco Tequila
The base spirit created by the artisans at Casa San Matias specifically for the Expresiones del Corazón Collection. It utilizes estate-grown agave with a higher sugar content and artisanal distillation techniques to produce “a refined liquid with a sweet, gentle flavor and powerful notes of cooked agave intertwined with hints of citrus and green apple.”

Corazón George T. Stagg Añejo Tequila
Matured for 22 months in barrels that previously held George T. Stagg Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, it’s described as exhibiting “salted caramel flavors that burst on the tongue followed by charred pineapple that slowly transforms to tobacco, leaving a sweet-yet-smoky lingering flavor.”

Corazón French Oak Añejo Tequila
Matured for at least 13 months in French oak barrels that previously held Old Charter Oak French Oak Bourbon, it’s described as exhibiting “aromas of rich oak and vanilla and a smooth and lightly-sweet taste offering hints of cooked agave, apple and caramel.”

Corazón Sazerac Rye 18 Añejo Tequila
Matured for 24 months in barrels that previously held Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old, it’s described as a “moderately sweet tequila with strong hints of fresh fruit met with notes of oak, caramel, almond and cinnamon.”

Corazón Weller 12 Añejo Tequila
Matured for 26 months in barrels that previously held W.L. Weller 12 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, it’s described as “moderately sweet with heavily cooked agave, toasted vanilla and a silky-yet-intense oak finish.”

Corazón William Larue Weller Añejo Tequila
Matured for 15 months in barrels that previously held William Larue Weller Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky, it’s described as “a harmoniously smooth and dense tequila with lightly-sweet undertones. The taster is greeted with aromas of wood, caramel and almond, then met with notes of chocolate, intense vanilla, nut, eucalyptus and chamomile.”

The Expresiones del Corazón 2023 Collection is now available in limited quantities throughout the United States at a suggested retail price of $59.99 for the Artisanal Blanco and $79.99 for the George T. Stagg, French Oak, Sazerac Rye 18, Weller 12, and William Larue Weller Anejos.

Corazón Tequila has announced the Expresiones del Corazón 2022 Collection, featuring two limited edition añejo tequilas aged in Eagle Rare 17 Year Old and Thomas H. Handy whiskey barrels.

Corazón Eagle Rare 17 Añejo Tequila has been aged for 17 months in Eagle Rare 17 Year Old Bourbon barrels and is bottled at 40% ABV. It’s described as having aromas of “citrus, chocolate, and cooked agave” and a “dense texture with natural sweetness and a long-lasting finish.”

Corazón Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Añejo Tequila has been aged for 19 months in Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye Whiskey barrels and is bottled at 40% ABV. It’s described as “a powerful, lush, and boldly spicy tequila” with flavors of “toffee, fig cake, and candied fruit followed by mint, cinnamon, and clove,” concluding with a “long and warm” finish of “allspice, coconut, and nutmeg.”

The Expresiones del Corazón 2022 Collection is now available in limited quantities throughout the United States at a suggested retail price of $79.99 per 750 mL bottle.

Corazón Tequila has announced the 2021 release of its limited edition Expresiones del Corazón, featuring tequilas aged in barrels from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. The 2021 lineup includes the Artisanal Blanco, Elmer T. Lee Reposado, George T. Stagg Añejo, and William Larue Weller Añejo.

Artisanal Blanco has been held for 60 days in stainless steel and is described “sweet and soft” with notes of “mint, eucalyptus, and a slightly tangy taste.” Suggested retail price: $59.99.

Elmer T. Lee Reposado has been aged for 12 months in Elmer T. Lee bourbon barrels and is described as having a “smooth, lightly sweet flavor with toasted almond, cinnamon, and chocolate notes.” Suggested retail price: $69.99.

George T. Stagg Añejo has been aged for 22 months in George T. Stagg bourbon barrels and is described as having notes of “cinnamon, chocolate, and green apple.” Suggested retail price: $79.99.

William Larue Weller Añejo has been aged for 26 months in William Larue Weller bourbon barrels and is described as having a “harmoniously smooth and dense taste with lightly sweet overtones.” Suggested retail price: $79.99.

All four of this year’s Expresiones del Corazón are bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Expresiones del Corazón are now available throughout the United States in highly limited quantities.
