Compass Box has announced a rebranding of the Great King Street blended Scotch whisky collection; dropping Great King Street from the titles and now referring to the whiskies simply as Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend.

Internationally renowned and award-winning designers Stranger & Stranger have designed the new labels for Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend, which were created by Compass Box founder and whiskymaker John Glaser in 2011 and 2014, respectively. The Artist Blend label is a tribute to Edinburgh and depicts an artist in front of the world-famous Scottish National Gallery, embodying the creative spirit of Compass Box. The Glasgow Blend label depicts one of Glasgow’s most iconic landmarks, the statue of the Duke of Wellington, with a traffic cone placed on its head, a symbol of the city’s sense of humor.

Despite the names and labels changing, Compass Box claims the blends themselves are staying the same. Artist Blend is described as “reminiscent of apple, salted caramel and baking spices, with a creamy mouthfeel and long finish.” Glasgow Blend is described as “full, bold and smoky on the palate, uniting the rich spice and fruitcake-like notes of Sherry cask aging with the maritime punch of Islay malt whisky.”

Compass Box Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend are bottled NCF (Non-Chill Filtered) and of natural color at 43% ABV and will be available beginning mid-April at a suggested retail price of $38.00.
