Labels submitted to the TTB have revealed 2019’s Ardbeg Day release, Ardbeg Drum, a single malt whisky matured in ex-Bourbon casks and rested (finished) in ex-Rum casks. The labels don’t specify from which distillery the Rum casks were sourced.

Tasting notes on the Ardbeg Drum Committee Edition label describe it as “A flamboyant jamboree of flavours, with fragrant pine resin, woodsmoke and seaspray dancing alongside ripe banana and pineapple. Lavender, liquorice and vanilla sway into rich dark chocolate, before parading into a long, smoky finish.”

Ardbeg Drum Committee Edition will be bottled NFC (Non Chill-Filtered) at 52% ABV and is expected to land in stores in Spring 2019.
